What we fix

Furnace problems we fix

Lights, then shuts off

The classic dirty flame sensor — common, cheap, and constantly misdiagnosed as something expensive. We measure the flame signal to be sure.

Won’t ignite at all

A cracked hot-surface ignitor, a failed gas valve, or a control-board fault.

No heat

Thermostat, a tripped limit switch, control board, or gas supply. We trace it, not guess it.

Short-cycling

Heats, shuts off, repeats. Usually a clogged filter overheating the furnace and tripping the limit — or the flame sensor again.

Blower won’t run (or won’t stop)

Blower motor, capacitor, limit switch, or a fan-setting fault.

Cracked heat exchanger / CO

The safety one. A crack lets combustion gases mix with your air. We inspect it on every visit.

Safety first

A no-heat call is also a safety check

A gas furnace makes carbon monoxide by design, and the heat exchanger is the wall that keeps it out of the air you breathe. When that wall cracks, CO can leak into the house — and you can’t see or smell it. So on every furnace repair we run a combustion analysis (measured CO and draft) and inspect the heat exchanger. If it’s cracked, we show you and shut it down — running a furnace with a cracked heat exchanger isn’t a repair we’ll pretend is fine.

⚠️ If your CO alarm is going off: get everyone to fresh air now, and call 911 if anyone feels dizzy, nauseous, or has a headache. Then call us to find the source.
How we diagnose it

How we actually diagnose it

Most “my furnace is broken” calls come down to a handful of measurable things. So we measure: the flame-sensor signal in microamps, ignitor resistance, gas manifold pressure on a manometer, limit- and pressure-switch operation, and combustion output. That’s how a cheap flame-sensor cleaning doesn’t turn into a control-board sale — and how a real safety problem doesn’t get missed. Measured, not guessed.

The straight numbers

What it costs — and repair or replace

$99 diagnostic

Credited toward any repair over $500 — and the CO / heat-exchanger safety check is part of it, not an add-on. You get the measured findings and a written price before we do the work. No “trust me,” no mystery invoice.

The call comes down to age (most furnaces run 15–20 years), the specific repair, and safety. A flame sensor, ignitor, or capacitor on a mid-life furnace is an easy fix. A cracked heat exchanger on an older unit usually means replace — that’s a safety line, not a sales pitch. We give you the numbers both ways and tell you plainly. Furnace Installation →

How it works

No surprises, no pressure

01

Diagnose

We measure flame signal, gas pressure, ignitor, and combustion — plus the CO / heat-exchanger safety check. Measured, not guessed.

02

Written price

You get the findings and a fixed repair price before we start. $99 diagnostic credited toward repairs over $500.

03

Fix & verify

We make the repair and re-run combustion to confirm it’s heating safely before we leave.

Repairs run 10–20% less on a maintenance plan, and a yearly combustion check catches safety issues before winter.

Our basement recently flooded with all the rain we had, Roman came highly recommended by the company helping us clean up. He came out the same day to make sure our HVAC system wasn’t damaged from the 3-5 inches of water we had. He was kind, professional and we were grateful he could help us on such short notice. Would highly recommend!

Very happy with Roman’s service. Our mini splits are cleaner than they’ve ever been, wish we had him clean them sooner! And they aren’t rattling anymore. He was out within a day and paid great attention to detail — He caught things that two other technicians had missed with past routine maintenance calls. Pricing was fair too! No complaints!

I’m really happy with the work. Roman and the Heisenberg team did an awesome job! Highly recommend!

FAQ

Straight answers

My furnace lights, then shuts off after a few seconds — what is it?+
Almost always a dirty flame sensor — a common, inexpensive fix. It can also be an ignitor or gas issue, so we measure the flame signal to be sure instead of guessing (or upselling).
My furnace won’t turn on at all — what’s wrong?+
Could be the thermostat, a cracked ignitor, a tripped limit switch, the control board, or gas supply. We trace it by measurement and give you a written price before any work.
Is a cracked heat exchanger dangerous?+
Yes — it can let carbon monoxide into your air. We inspect the heat exchanger and run a CO/combustion check on every furnace repair. If it’s cracked, we show you and shut it down.
My carbon-monoxide alarm went off — what do I do?+
Get everyone to fresh air right away, and call 911 if anyone feels dizzy, nauseous, or has a headache. Then call us to find and fix the source. Don’t run the furnace until it’s checked.
What’s your diagnostic fee?+
$99, credited toward any repair over $500 — and the safety check is included, not extra. You get a written price before any work.
Should I repair or replace?+
Depends on age and the specific problem. Small parts on a mid-life furnace are worth fixing; a cracked heat exchanger on an old unit usually means replace, for safety. Furnace Installation →
My blower won’t shut off — is that bad?+
Usually a limit switch or a fan-setting issue, sometimes the control board. We check it — a constant blower can point to an overheating problem worth catching early.
Do you fix electric furnaces too?+
Yes — gas and electric. Electric furnaces fail differently (elements, sequencers), and we diagnose those by measurement as well.
