Ductless Mini-Split

Mini-Split Installation in Vancouver, WA

We install, repair, and clean ductless mini-splits across Vancouver, WA and Clark County — and we size every one with a load calculation, not a square-footage guess. It’s owner-operated: the technician who measures your home is the same guy who answers the phone. If a central system is actually the better fit, we’ll tell you that too.

Right fit first

Is a Ductless Mini-Split Right for Your Home?

A mini-split isn’t automatically the right answer — and anyone who tells you it is hasn’t looked at your house. The deciding factor isn’t your square footage, it’s your ductwork. We measure static pressure and run a room-by-room load calc before we recommend anything.

Ductless is the right call when…
  • There’s no ductwork — older Vancouver homes, additions, ADUs
  • Running ducts would mean tearing open walls or ceilings
  • One or two rooms are always too hot or too cold
  • You’re conditioning a garage, shop, or converted space
  • You want independent temperature control room by room

If your existing ducts are in good shape, a central heat pump is usually the cheaper long-term call — and we’ll say so instead of selling you heads you don’t need.

Where it earns its keep

Where Ductless Makes Sense

  • Additions & bonus rooms — square footage the original system was never sized to reach
  • ADUs & converted garages — heat and cool without extending the main system
  • Older homes with no ducts — real comfort without tearing the house apart
  • The one room that’s always wrong — the office over the garage, the upstairs that never cools
  • Shops & workspaces — one head that heats in winter and cools in summer
  • Whole-home ductless — multiple heads off one or two outdoor units, no ducts at all
How pricing works

Single-Zone vs. Multi-Zone

Single-zone ductless mini-split head installed in a Vancouver, WA home
A single-zone head we installed in a Vancouver home.

A “zone” is one indoor head serving one space with its own control. One head on one outdoor unit is single-zone. Two or more heads sharing an outdoor unit is multi-zone.

Price tracks three things, not your square footage: how many heads, how far the refrigerant lines have to run, and the outdoor unit’s capacity. That’s why we count heads and measure the runs on-site before quoting — a two-head job in an open layout and a two-head job across two floors are not the same price, and pretending they are is how you get surprised on install day.

Cold-climate

Brands We Install — and Why Cold-Climate Rating Matters Here

Daikin, Bosch, Mitsubishi — we install across brands and match the unit to the job.

We install across brands and match the unit to the job, but for heating in the Pacific Northwest we lean on Mitsubishi’s Hyper-Heating INVERTER (H2i) line. A cheap heat pump loses capacity as it gets colder and hands off to expensive electric backup right when you need heat most. Hyper-Heat units are rated to keep producing heat down to −13°F.

Vancouver’s coldest winter mornings sit in the low-to-mid 20s°F — so a properly sized Hyper-Heat mini-split never gets near the temperature where it would struggle. Full comfort on the coldest day of the year, without watching the electric bill spike. For repair we work on all major ductless brands; for new installs we’ll walk you from entry-level to premium and tell you honestly where the extra money buys real performance.

Not sure it’s an install you need? A musty smell or weak airflow is usually a deep cleaning (from $249), not a repair. An error code or one head down is a repair. And two measured visits a year keep it running — see maintenance plans from $19.90/mo.
Clark PUD rebate

Clark PUD may cover part of this

Clark Public Utilities pays these rebates on electrically heated homes only. Pick what heats yours right now and you will see the real number — including the cases where it is nothing.

Most ductless jobs in Clark County land on the $900 line.

What heats your home right now?

Gas on the property is not what matters — only gas heat is. A gas water heater, range or fireplace does not disqualify you, and neither does a gas line at the street.

What you heat with nowWhat we installClark PUD pays
Electric furnace or electric zonal heatDuctless mini-split, single or multi-head$900
Electric furnaceCentral heat pump$1,000
Electric furnaceCentral variable-speed heat pump$1,250
Electric zonal heat, or a heat pump you already haveCentral variable-speed heat pump$500

You do not chase the paperwork. We confirm your home qualifies with Clark PUD before we start, file the rebate ourselves, and take it straight off your invoice. You never front the money and never wait on a check. Heisenberg is listed in the Clark PUD Heat Pump / Ductless Heat Pump Contractor Network.

Don’t want to pay it all at once?

Most folks finance. 0% APR available for qualified buyers through Service Finance. Quick approval, no prepayment penalty — ask about monthly options when we quote.

These are estimated starting prices, not quotes — your final number depends on your home, equipment choice, head count, line-set runs, and install conditions. We confirm everything in writing after a free in-home visit. Pricing current as of 2026 and subject to change. We size your system with an in-home load calculation — square footage alone oversizes equipment.

Our basement recently flooded with all the rain we had, Roman came highly recommended by the company helping us clean up. He came out the same day to make sure our HVAC system wasn’t damaged from the 3-5 inches of water we had. He was kind, professional and we were grateful he could help us on such short notice. Would highly recommend!

Very happy with Roman’s service. Our mini splits are cleaner than they’ve ever been, wish we had him clean them sooner! And they aren’t rattling anymore. He was out within a day and paid great attention to detail — He caught things that two other technicians had missed with past routine maintenance calls. Pricing was fair too! No complaints!

Good to know

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a mini-split actually keep my house warm in winter?

Yes. We install cold-climate (Hyper-Heat) units rated to keep heating down to −13°F. Vancouver rarely drops below the low 20s°F, so a properly sized unit heats your home on the coldest morning of the year without leaning on expensive backup strips.

How many heads do I need?

One per space you want on its own control. We settle it with a load calc, not a guess — sometimes one well-placed head handles an open floor plan; sometimes you want one per bedroom.

What’s the difference between single-zone and multi-zone pricing?

Single-zone is one head on one outdoor unit (from $3,850). Multi-zone shares an outdoor unit across two or more heads (two zones from $7,850). Price tracks head count, line runs, and outdoor capacity — which is why we quote after measuring, not over the phone.

My mini-split smells musty — is that the coil?

Almost never. The growth lives on the blower wheel, deep inside the indoor head, and you can’t reach it from the front panel. It needs a proper teardown clean, not a filter rinse. Mini-Split Cleaning →

How long does an install take?

Most single-zone installs are one day. Multi-zone runs one to two days depending on head count and line routing. We pull the permit and commission the system before we leave.

Do you pull permits?

Yes. Permit and inspection are included in the price — not an extra that shows up later. A licensed contractor pulling a permit means the work is inspected to code.

What brands do you install?

For repair, all the major ductless brands. For new installs we lean on Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat for cold-climate performance, but match the unit to your home and budget — and size it correctly, so you get the performance the brand actually promises.

Do you offer financing?

Yes — 0% APR is available for qualified buyers through Service Finance, with quick approval and no prepayment penalty. Ask about monthly options when we quote.

Do you install in Vancouver, WA and nearby areas?

Yes. Heisenberg HVAC installs across Vancouver, WA and Clark County, including Camas, Washougal, Ridgefield, Battle Ground, Woodland, Hazel Dell, and Five Corners. Not sure if you’re in our area? Just ask when you reach out.
